Let's KICK it . . .

Today I am 22 weeks along! I have learned that this week the babies eyebrows and eyelashes develop, as well as their taste buds (lucky them, maybe now they can start enjoying all the bad foods that I have treated myself with lately)! They are 11 inches long, head to feet, and weigh around 11 ounces. The MOST exciting event of all is FINALLY I have felt a distinguished kick with my hands. I have been waiting for this! Of course it was when Eric is out of town for work - - so he feels a little left out. I feel the "fluttering" all of the time. First, let me just say, I hate the word "fluttering" because its so vague. When its your first time being pregnant and someone tells you you'll feel "fluttering" you can't begin to understand what that is. Its like a rolling motion and sometimes feels like your stomach is dropping on a roller coaster. It basically feels like a nervous stomach for a few quick seconds. But I probably had "fluttering" for a few weeks before I realized - - those are the BABIES! I plan on inventing a new word for this - - so stay tuned! Anyways, Thursday night I drank a nice, big, cold glass of ice water and laid down. The cold liquid got them (or one) moving and on my right side 3 nice big kicks. It was wonderful . . .

I am also "kicking" work to the curb! Well, not me. My physicians have placed me on modified bed rest beginning at the end of week 25. So, I will finish out the month of February and then take it easy. They say at that point they just want me relaxing so mr and missy can grow, grow, grow. The babies are low and my belly is big for 5.5 months, so we need to take it easy.

(Not to worry Meredith. Dress fits, shoes are shined, I'm ready to roll . . .literally).
