HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Party # 1 of 3

After our trip to Palm Springs, Nonna & I flew to Austin with Carson & Dean on Tuesday (which is officially not fun at this point). We've had a great trip here in Austin! We've gone shopping, strolling in the Radio Flyer wagon T-Pop bought, gone out to dinners, rode the train at the park, and just had fun visiting everyone. Yesterday Nonna & T-Pop hosted a 1st Birthday party for Carson & Dean at the UT Golf Club. We had SO much fun. The kids loved their cupcakes and enjoyed playing with the big kids! Here are just a few pics of our great day with our almost ONE YEAR OLD BIRTHDAY BOY & GIRL. . .

One year ago today,

was the day. The dreaded day. The most awful day of my life. I didn't even realize this until this morning while I was sipping my coffee, watching Carson and Dean devour their blueberries and waffles. This exact day last year Eric left for a work trip to Las Vegas around 6:30 am, I was 28 weeks pregnant. I would be by myself for only 24 hours as my mom was headed to Raleigh the following morning to help my big self out. That's it, ONE DAY by myself. Well, all hell broke loose. Around 8:00 am I felt "off" and phoned the DR to explain my symptoms. Didn't think it was an emergency as I didn't go in to see the DR until 2:00 pm. When I got there I was 3 centimeters dilated. The DR told me to drive myself to the hospital as quick as I could. I was about to crash off the road, I called Eric screaming in complete fear and panic, and reached Rex hospital. I was hooked up to all kinds of machines and monitors for the babies, and given steroids to help their lungs. A few minutes later, I was 4 centimeters dilated. I was told I was delivering these babies today. An ambulance was on its way from Wake Med, because they had a Level 3 NICU and it would be better to deliver there. Alone, by myself, in an ambulance, going to deliver these babies 12 weeks early, and Eric wasn't there. I still remember all of this like it were yesterday. Eric did hop on the next flight back to Raleigh and met me at Wake Med around 1:00 am, happy to still find I hadn't delivered. This was the start of a 12 day stay / fight to keep these babies inside. Unbelievable. Right? I am not crazy, this is unbelievable!

Well, Eric left today for this annual business trip, this year in Palm Springs, CA. My mom is headed to Raleigh today to babysit Carson and Dean, and I am out of here tomorrow to join him in California!!!! My Gran will also be here Friday to help Nonna tag team our wild pair. As for me, I plan on sunbathing, working out, and living at the spa. Can't believe a year has past since that scary day! Now we have beautiful, wonderful, healthy, crazy, on-the-go, scary almost ONE YEAR OLDS!!!!!
