Back to School

Tomorrow is August 24th and I go back to work. I CANNOT believe how fast 5 months has gone by. Like every mother who has to go through this, I am sad, its tough. What an adjustment to not be with them every minute of every day. My mom is here to help us out this week and then we've hired a nanny. I refuse to get overwhelmed and upset. I instead plan to just take it one day at a time. We shall see. Carson, Dean, and I talked about it and they are on board. They are really very laid back about the whole thing, thanks babies!

Starbucks Play Date

Carson & Dean had a play date with my friend Emily's son Jacob, who is just a few weeks younger. Emily and I try to have a sip coffee, catch up "mommy" play date. It was so great for us to finally get together and introduce our youngsters to each other! As if Emily doesn't have her hands full with her own son, she still bought my coffee and bottle fed Carson! Thanks Emily! I look forward to more get togethers!

*PLEASE NOTE that my two fussed over half the time we were here because they were hungry and needed to be fed. But of course we took the picture the last 2 minutes just when Jacob started to get fussy. Sorry Jacob!

Table for 11

Once a week I meet up with two of my girlfriends and their children. Nicole has twin boys, Blake & Cole, they are 2 weeks older than Carson & Dean. Astrid has her son Cole who is 8 months old. We take over innocent restaurants and cause quite the scene! This past Saturday we decided to get together for dinner - -husbands too! After a wonderful dinner from Astrid & Jason - with everyone of us holding a baby while eating - we lined all the babies up on the couch for a group photo. Here's the sequence of events - -

Both Cole's are NOT interested! Blake and Carson are chillin and our man Dean is out!

Trip # 2

Carson & Dean completed their second airplane trip last weekend when we all flew to Chicago for our friends Zach & Leslie's wedding. Throughout the pregnancy we had originally thought that Eric would go alone, assuming the babies would still be quite young. Well - - they were just at 4 months and did terrific. It was well worth it! We saw so many of our friends that we don't get to see but once every year or longer. We are so glad they got to meet many of our friends. Carson & Dean love their AEPi uncles!

Here are just a few pictures of many! ** And a special thank you to Bob, Patty, & Val for babysitting!!!!**

4 month check-up

I'll type fast since they are both still asleep in their car seats after their DR appt and lunch with daddy.

Carson - 11lbs 1 ounce - - 23 inches long

Dean - 12lbs 1 ounce -- 23 3/4 inches long

The very exciting news . . . they are ON THE GROWTH CHART! Both of them, for weight, height, and head circumference. They are right around the 5th percentile for weight. Both of their overall growth has been stupendous, the DR was pleased. We are going to pass on introducing rice cereal for a little bit. I am not interested yet! We are however going to start breaking out the exersaucer and bumbos and see what these babies can do.

They received their shots and screamed and cried. Broke my heart. Good thing Daddy was there. Now we are home to rest for the afternoon and to enjoy our baby tylenol.

We have a milestone!

Yesterday, August 5th, Carson ROLLED OVER!

Of course, I've had them on their mats for a good amount of time each day and they have been so close. Last night, after Eric and I gave them their baths, we put them down in the bonus room to give them a little activity before their last bottle and bedtime. As I get up (my back to Carson) to go downstairs to get some water she rolled over!!! Eric saw the whole thing and screamed at me to turn around. Just as I turned around, she was on her back. I missed it!!! However, she quickly did it a second time. Then, Eric grabbed the video camera to capture the third time and nothing. She held back on us. I am going to try and capture it this morning. This afternoon they have their 4 month check-up which means more shots, so she will not be up to it then. Yay Carson! ( and yay mommy, I already wrote it in the baby book )!
